SECTION 01 — WHAT WE MAKE

Testobite Main Products: Roasted, Salted, Fried and Processed Snacks

Our production is built around four methods, and every Testobite product belongs to at least one of them. Roasted items are dry roasted in drums with minimal oil. Salted items are roasted or fried and then tumbled with iodised salt and spice. Fried items, mainly the sev and chivda components inside our namkeen, are cooked in fresh oil at controlled temperatures and drained properly. Processed items are coated, seasoned and finished products such as masala sing and sing bhujia, where the raw nut or gram is wrapped in besan and spice before cooking.

The range is divided into two broad families that retailers ask for separately. Plain snacks are simple, single ingredient products that families keep in the kitchen: Yellow Chana, Mahabaleshwar Chana, Vatana, Roasted Peanuts and Chana Jor. Namkeen are seasoned, layered and more festive: Garlic Mixture, Seven Star, Masala Kabuli Chana, Black Pepper Chana, Moong Chatpata, Masala Moong and Sing Bhujia. Between the two, one supplier can fill an entire snack shelf.

The flagship of the plain family is Testobite Yellow Chana. The pack declares chana at 98 percent, with iodised salt and turmeric powder making up the rest. It is a vegetarian, ready to eat savoury snack with roughly 20.4 grams of protein per 100 grams, and it is available in 150g, 200g, 500g, 1kg and 5kg packs so that a household, an office or a caterer can all buy the same product in the right quantity. Try the Mahabaleshwar Chana for a darker roast or the Black Pepper Chana for a peppery version of the same grain.

The second hero product is Testobite Bharuch Peanuts. Bharuch in Gujarat is famous for groundnuts with a naturally sweet, oily kernel, and we buy directly from that belt. The peanuts are cleaned, graded by size, dry roasted in small batches and finished with fine salt so the skin stays crisp instead of turning rubbery. Because we grade first, you will not find half roasted pieces at the bottom of the pack. Bharuch Peanuts come in 150g trial packs and larger 200g and 500g formats, and the same peanuts power our Salted Peanuts, Masala Sing and Sing Bhujia.

Every Testobite batch follows three standards: uniform grain size before roasting, a human taste check before machines approve it, and sealed packing that protects the crunch through distribution. Browse the complete Testobite catalogue, including Garlic Mixture 750g, Seven Star, Vatana and Moong Chatpata, on our products page, or filter by family in the chana, peanuts and mixture categories.

SECTION 02 — HOW WE MAKE IT

Inside the Testobite Factory: Hygiene, Delivery Time and Bulk Orders

About Testobite factory packaging line hygiene standards at Mahek Foods Ambernath
About Mahek Foods - Testobite roasting and packing machinery inside the Ambernath unit
About us - Testobite namkeen mixture packed in sealed food grade pouches

Testobite is manufactured by Mahek Foods at our unit in Ambernath, Maharashtra, an industrial belt close to Mumbai that gives us reliable power, water and transport links. The Testobite facility operates under FSSAI Licence No. 11518021000420, printed on every pack so any customer or inspector can trace what they are holding. Raw material arrives in lots that are cleaned, de stoned and graded before it reaches the roasting floor. Rejected lots are returned, never blended.

Hygiene is treated as a daily routine rather than an audit event. Staff wear caps, hairnets, gloves and dedicated footwear, and entry to the processing area passes through a hand wash and sanitising station. Contact surfaces and roasting drums are cleaned at the end of every shift, oil is filtered and replaced on a schedule, and the packing room is kept dry so that no moisture reaches the pouch. Every production batch is coded with a date and batch number, a retention sample is kept for shelf life reference, and pest control is handled by a contracted agency with documented visits. If a retailer or consumer reports a quality concern, the batch code lets us trace that pack back to the raw material lot and the shift that made it.

Delivery time depends on the type of order. Retail and distributor orders confirmed before noon are usually dispatched within 24 to 48 working hours from Ambernath. Deliveries inside Maharashtra, covering Mumbai, Thane, Navi Mumbai, Pune, Nashik and Nagpur, normally reach in two to four days through our transport partners. Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Karnataka, Goa and Rajasthan are typically four to seven days. Marketplace replenishment orders for BigBasket, JioMart, Starquik and Dukaan move against agreed purchase order schedules, so stock is planned in advance rather than pulled from open inventory. Festival season demands extra lead time, and we ask partners to place Diwali, Holi and wedding season orders at least three weeks early.

Bulk orders are where most of our business partners grow. Yellow Chana, Salted Peanuts and Bharuch Peanuts are packed in 1kg and 5kg formats for caterers, hostels, offices, tea shops, sweet marts and institutional buyers, and larger carton quantities are quoted per SKU. Pricing works in slabs, so the more you buy the better the rate, and mixed SKU cartons let a small retailer test several Testobite products without committing to one. Send your requirement to mahek.foods@testobite.com, call +91 72089 50312, or use the contact page for a written quotation. Full terms and pack formats are listed on the products page, and distributor requirements are explained on the distributor page.

SECTION 03 — WHERE WE ARE GOING

Testobite Vision and Mission: A Pack in Every Corner of India

Ek Vishwas. One trust, carried from a roasting drum in Ambernath to a kirana shelf in a tier 3 town.

Markets we are actively building

Our Vision

To make Testobite a familiar name in every corner of India, from metro supermarkets to village kirana counters, so that a customer in Mumbai and a customer in a small town of Madhya Pradesh eat the same clean, crunchy, honestly priced snack. We want the brand to be recognised by its pack, trusted for its label and asked for by name at the shop counter.

Reaching that vision means three things in practice: enough production capacity to serve many states, enough distribution partners to be present locally, and enough consistency that repeat buyers get the same taste every time. The Testobite distributor programme and our annual machinery additions exist to serve exactly this goal.

Our Mission

To serve authentic Indian snack flavours in convenient packs, with transparent information and responsible communication. We roast wherever roasting is possible instead of frying, we declare ingredients and nutrition honestly on the pack, we keep pack sizes practical from 150g to 5kg, and we price the range so that a daily snack stays affordable.

Our mission also covers the people who sell our products. A shopkeeper should get reliable supply, fair margins and stock that turns quickly. A distributor should get a range wide enough to fill a snack shelf, not just one item. Everything we add to the range, from healthy snacks to festive namkeen, is measured against those two tests.

SECTION 04 — HOW WE GROW

Growing Channels and Distributors Wanted in Every Tier 2 City

Testobite has grown through six channels, and each one teaches us something about how Indians buy snacks. Marketplaces put the brand in front of shoppers who compare packs side by side. General trade still drives most snack volume in India and depends on partners who know their streets. Modern trade rewards shelf presentation, institutional buyers repeat larger formats, festive gifting turns our assortment into hampers, and our own website serves any pin code while local distribution catches up.

The honest bottleneck is not demand, it is reach. That is why we are looking for new distributors in every tier 2 city, not only in metros. A tier 2 partner controls his own market better than a metro chain ever will: he knows which fifty shops matter, which transporter delivers on time, and when a local festival spikes the demand for namkeen. We want one serious partner per territory who can hold ready stock, service retailers weekly and grow the range with us. Cities where enquiries are most welcome include Nashik, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, Solapur, Kolhapur, Sangli, Amravati, Jalgaon and Satara in Maharashtra; Surat, Vadodara, Rajkot, Bharuch and Jamnagar in Gujarat; Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur and Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh; Jaipur, Jodhpur, Kota and Udaipur in Rajasthan; Hubballi and Belagavi in Karnataka; Warangal and Vijayawada in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh; Raipur in Chhattisgarh; and Lucknow, Kanpur and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh.

What a partner gets from us is straightforward: a range of more than twenty products that can fill a snack shelf by itself, slab pricing that improves with volume, stock availability against committed orders, printed catalogue and shelf material, product training for his sales staff, and a direct line to the people who actually make the product rather than a call centre. Territory exclusivity, schemes and credit terms are discussed individually and confirmed in writing, because we would rather sign fewer partners and support them properly than sign many and leave them without stock. The complete partner process, eligibility and the enquiry form are on the become a distributor page, and retailers who simply want to stock the range can start with a single carton by calling +91 72089 50312.

If you are a shop owner, the fastest way to judge Testobite is to taste it. Order trial packs from the product catalogue, keep them on your counter for a week and watch how quickly they move. Retailers who reorder consistently are first in line for new schemes, and our blog gives them ready content to share with customers.

New Machinery Added at Testobite Every Year

Capacity is a promise, so Testobite invests in new machinery every single year. Each addition removes one manual step, improves uniformity or raises output per shift without compromising the roast quality our customers expect. Automatic weighing and sealing reduced variation in pack weights, better roasting drums improved colour uniformity across a batch, and the next additions focus on optical grading and a second packing line so that distributor orders never wait for the machine. This is a working document: the roadmap below is reviewed and updated every year, and partners can ask us for the latest status.

Company Facts, Policies and Partner Questions

Testobite is manufactured and marketed by Mahek Foods, located in Ambernath, Maharashtra, India. Ambernath sits in the Mumbai industrial belt, which gives the unit dependable power, water and road connectivity to ports, warehouses and city markets. The same team handles sourcing, roasting, seasoning, packing and dispatch, so decisions about quality are taken by people who own the outcome. Business and manufacturing references for the company are available on request, and every pack carries the manufacturer name and address along with the FSSAI licence number.

Each Testobite pack carries the FSSAI Licence No. 11518021000420, the product name, ingredient list with percentages for major ingredients, nutritional information per 100g, net quantity, batch number, date of manufacture, best before period, storage instructions, country of origin, vegetarian marking, customer care contact and the manufacturer and marketer details. For Yellow Chana, chana is declared at 98 percent of the ingredients with iodised salt and turmeric powder as the balance, and approximately 20.4 grams of protein per 100 grams is declared. We present these figures as product information rather than health claims, which is also how we advise partners to describe the range to customers.

Hygiene starts before production. Raw material lots are cleaned, de stoned and graded on arrival, and rejected lots are returned rather than blended. Inside the unit, staff wear caps, hairnets, gloves and dedicated footwear, and everyone passes through a hand wash and sanitising station before entering the processing area. Roasting drums, tumbler and contact surfaces are cleaned at the end of each shift, frying oil is filtered and changed on schedule, and the packing room is kept dry and dust controlled. Floors and drains are cleaned daily, waste is removed in covered bins, and pest control is carried out by a contracted agency with documented visits. Every batch carries a code, a retention sample is stored for shelf life reference, and cleaning and production records are maintained shift wise.

Every complaint is treated as a traceability exercise. If a customer or retailer reports an issue with taste, texture or packaging, we ask for the pack photo showing the batch code and best before date. That code identifies the production shift, the raw material lot and the packing run. If the retention sample confirms a deviation, affected stock is traced and corrective action is taken at the source, which may mean retraining, a maintenance fix or a supplier correction. Retailers and distributors should route complaints to their account contact or to mahek.foods@testobite.com with the batch details attached. Prompt reporting with a batch code is the fastest way to get a resolution.

Pricing is slab based, meaning the rate improves as quantity increases, and it is quoted per SKU because pack format and raw material cost differ between products. Retailers can begin with a single assorted carton to test the range. Distributors place larger committed orders and receive territory specific pricing discussed individually. Institutional and bulk buyers using 1kg and 5kg formats receive a separate quotation covering quantity, delivery destination and payment terms. Mixed SKU cartons can be arranged so smaller buyers do not need to commit to one product. All quotations are shared in writing and remain valid for the period stated on them, since raw material prices for chana and groundnut move with the season.

First orders are generally against advance or part advance, which is standard practice for a new trading relationship. Once a partner has a consistent ordering history, credit terms can be discussed based on volume, territory and payment discipline. Every dispatch is accompanied by a tax invoice and an e way bill where applicable, and transport documents are shared at dispatch so buyers can track the consignment. GST details are required for invoicing. For marketplace supply, billing follows the platform purchase order and settlement cycle. Partners who need a formal quotation, proforma invoice or a credit application should request it through the contact page or by email.

Yes. Prospective retailers and distributors can request product samples to taste the range before committing, along with the current catalogue listing every SKU, pack size and barcode. Along with samples we share shelf talkers, danglers and display guidance so a partner can present the products properly from day one. Sample requests are usually processed with a courier charge or adjusted against a first order, depending on the size of the enquiry. Send your requirement with the city name to mahek.foods@testobite.com or call +91 72089 50312, and mention which categories interest you so we can send a relevant assortment rather than a random box.

We do discuss private label packing for businesses that have their own brand and a committed volume. This typically suits regional brands, retail chains wanting a house label snack, gifting companies and exporters. Private label work requires a higher minimum volume commitment because it involves separate packaging artwork, cylinder or plate costs and dedicated production slots. The product specifications, pack format and labelling compliance remain the responsibility of both parties, and we support with manufacturing capability, documentation and quality records. Share your brand name, required products, pack size and expected monthly volume so we can respond with a realistic assessment.

Most Testobite products carry a best before period of about six months from the date of manufacture when the pack remains sealed. Shelf life depends on the product type, so refer to the printed date on each pack. Storage matters as much as the seal: keep cartons in a cool, dry, ventilated area away from direct sunlight, moisture and strong odours, and store them on pallets or racks rather than directly on the floor. Rotate stock on a first in first out basis so older cartons sell first. In humid coastal cities, opened retail packs should be transferred to airtight jars. Damaged or wet cartons must be separated immediately to protect the rest of the stock.

Packaging is planned in two layers. The primary pouch is a food grade laminate chosen to block moisture and protect the crunch, sealed with clean jaws and coded with batch and date details. The secondary carton is sized so that packs sit tightly without crushing, and cartons are sealed with strong tape and strapped for long haul movement. Bulk 1kg and 5kg formats use heavier cartons suited to stacking in godowns. Because our products are dry snacks, they travel well by road, but we still advise partners to avoid stacking heavy goods on top of snack cartons and to check consignments at the time of delivery, noting any damage on the transporter receipt before signing.
